Parma vs. Napoli

By: Neil | January 26th, 2013

Who would have thought that Parma away would be such a difficult fixture? The gialloblu are the only team undefeated at home this season, posting six wins and four draws. Their point total at home isn’t as impressive as Lazio who have 9 home wins, but the Ennio Tardini has become a very difficult place for Serie A teams to visit. Just like last weekend in Florence, Napoli might play very very well and not come back with all three points. On other other hand, I am looking forward to the prospect of Napoli ending Parma’s home unbeaten record. It can be done.

Well said Neil. I just wish Pandev would score more.

Nice to see Britos and Donadel finally contributing to the team. Both were injuried during their first months with Napoli.

Couldn’t agree more on the Mazzari comments Neil as well as the comments on Insigne/Pandev!
Inler has got a wicked shot but he should really limit them to 25 yards, not 40 yards as he often does.
Britos is coming good. It’s amazing what 3-4 consecutive games can do for one’s confidence.
Interesting rumours on the Nocerino swap with Dzemali. Strange that Milan would want this but I could fully understand Nocerino wanting his native Napoli given the position they’re in compared to Milan..but that’s not to say Milan could be better next season.
The team is looking hungry and the time to strike is now. Juve have dropped slightly and have a lot of high pressure games coming up…not to mention we have them at home in 3 weeks time. Lazio,Inter & Fiorentina have also dropped off in recent weeks.
    Forza Napoli!

If what the article is saying is true, with Britos and Campagnaro suspended who else is going to play defense? Is gamberini still hurt?

According to Sky Sport, Federico Fernandez is so close to Getafe. The Argentinian defender has left the retreat of Napoli at Castel Volturno. In Portugal there are always more rumors about the possibile transfer of Ronaldo from Napoli to Porto.

Neil, I agree that ( I know I am) quick to blame Mazz, yet not give him enough praise. My only concern with him is his lack of developing the young players. With Vargas leaving and Fernandez possibly next, I’m concerned.

Fernandez and Vargas only loans though. As they weren’t getting any game time, probably best thing to do. FORZA NAPOLI!

Mr. Taylor best wishes on your blog endeavour, for inspiration I paste this…..
And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids,
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses:
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing…..

So it looks like we got Rolando and Bigon is after Naiggolan.

What’s everybody thoughts on the market so far?

People seem to like Rolando. I’ve never seen him play but from from I read, I like the signing. If we get Nainggolan this market would be an A+. We should have had this market in the summer, but better late than never.

Just watched the primavera semi final win over Roma, we got a lot of quality in that team, Saurini is doin a great job with them, not like the mess of the last few years.
Crispino in goals is a very confident keeper, great handling and likes to dominate the high balls into the box, only issue was some of his kickin was a bit like De Sanctis’s.
Right back- Francesco Savarise is solid at the back and likes to get forward.
Left back- Giuseppe Nicolao is a class act, great anticipation and engine, could become a top level player.
Centre back- Daniele Celiento is big and strong and commands the defence with the Polish centre back Igor Lasicki beside him.
16 year old centre mid Luca Palmiero plays like he’s 3 years older than he really is, gets about the pitch and does a great job in helping out the defence.

But where the real magic happens on this team is with the forward five players. Giuseppe Palma- Centre mid gets involved in everything, covers every blade of grass and breaks up the oppositions attacks, bit of a minder to the smaller lads on the pitch, you dont mess with Palma, got great skill on the ball too.
Giuseppe Fornito- attacking mid, wore the number 10 today and earned it. Excellent player, box to box, like Hamsik and has a great skill level.
Gennaro Tutino- left wing, Gennaro is only 16 as well but plays like he’s much older. Flashes of great technique and skill, is seriously one to keep an eye on.
Soma Novothny- Centre forward. Goal machine, scores in most matches. Just like today, scored the first.
Roberto Insigne- Right wing. When his older brother Lorenzo says that the younger brother Roberto is the better player you better sit up and listen. Bossed this match and scored the second killer goal, on a bumpy pitch his passes go where they are supposed to go. Created plenty from the right side by cutting into the middle, has pace by the bucketloads. If it wasnt for the state of the pitch and some excellent defending by the Roma left back coulda had a hat-trick today.

In a few years we’ll have Insigne on the right, Cavani in the middle, and Insigne on the left!

Dario, yeah it was a stream on sportitalia, wasnt the greatest quality but good enough to watch, hopefully they’ll have the final on there too.
