New Tat for a New Season

By: Christopher | July 10th, 2009

(Disclaimer: this is less of an informative post than a ‘lets start getting pumped up’ post)

STEP 1) Click play (#1 pump up song of random dude on youtubes “Top 10 Pump Up Songs 2009″)

(good chance this song will pop up in future posts during the season…)

STEP 2) Cigarini Highlights (while above music is playing full volume of course)

STEP 3) Review how we are going to waste some second division Austrian teams in some preseason friendlies in Lindabrunn…

Goalkeepers: Iezzo, Gianello, Navarro

Defenders: Aronica, Campagnaro, Cannavaro, Contini, Grava, Rinaudo, Rullo, Santacroce, Zuniga.

Midfielderds: Amodio, Blasi, Bogliacino, Datolo, Gargano, Hamsik, Maggio, Montervino, Pazienza, Vitale.

Forwards: Denis, Lavezzi, Pia’.

Teams that will be no more :
- On july, 20 at St.Polten: St Polten-Napoli, at 7,00 p.m.
- On july,21 at Wiener Neustadt: Wiener Neustadt-Napoli, at 7,00 p.m.
- On july,30 at Sollenau: Sollenau-Napoli, at 6,oo p.m.
(Then we are going to obliterate West Ham on August 8 in London)

Dear Lavezzi, you don’t have to keep getting tats to prove your level of bad@ass, just score more goals.

Wow…I’m about to throw up chunks of jealous…I can’t say for sure because I’ve never tried Heroine, but seeing the Amalfi Coast for the first time off that boat from Naples was a close equivalent of endorphin mayhem in the brain. Even dog shit looks beautiful in that coastal backdrop.

Thank you for the compliment alex– I have to say I’ve been boppin around the other team sites and none of them seem to have as cool of a group of gents we got here. Everyone is real chill here.

Palermo are starting to look like a filthy team, I still don’t know how they nabbed Pastore with such ease but what a signing!

Thanks for posting that alex, really great to hear all the excitement coming from the city itself.

Wow, so Denis, 3 goals in 2 friendlies? I have to say he looks much trimmer and fit than last season. Perhaps he has turned his act around? Any thoughts on him?

Man, I am jealous Alex that you got to go to Naples! At least next week I am off to Idaho for a little zip lining, white water rafting, and adult beverage consumption!

I will wait to see if Denis can score in real games. Still think he sucks, but I am willing to be proven wrong!

alex you aren’t lying. the costiera amalfitana is more striking than the pictures and descriptions (from virgil to the present day) make it seem. i’ve always liked watching palermo (esp miccoli) and am glad they got the talented argentine.

i’m not gonna get too pumped about denis yet, but certainly i’m happier he’s doing well in austria than if he sucked ass. it’d be huge if denis lived up to expectations this year (like an extra signing, if we don’t sell him of course). still bummed we lost mannini.

I was in Vico Equense. Loved the place and had their unique, gigantic, rectangular pizzas at Gigino Pizza a metro. They still sweep the streets with these big rakes. We drove from there to Mte. Faito.

I am interested to hear more comments about the current Napoli team including your favorite players.

Andrea Russotto!! Just kidding, but oh how I miss him.

I have a feeling cigarini will be my favorite player starting next season. If I had to choose someone right now I think it would be Paolo Cannavaro. Not so much for his level of play but the undeniable passion and love he has for SSC Napoli. Seeing photos of him weeping tears of joy when Napoli was promoted in 2007 shows me where that man’s heart is.

Doesn’t look good for Lavezzi…this guy has some balls still asking for a pay raise. I like Dela’s approac with this, either play for your raise or ride the pine!

    Just let him go.

Christopher, looks like we spoke too soon about Lavezzi. I still believe it would be a huge loss for him to leave. Yeah he only scored 7 goals but that doesn’t show the opportunities he created fairly consistently. He is not a full-blooded finisher but he is a serious threat nonetheless. Can’t say i’d be happy if he left especially since we have no one to currently replace his quality.

ciro, benito carbone played for boro my hometown team! he played for a few random teams if i remember rightly aston villa and derby i think…

we hired a car and drove from napoli to amalfi, took us about 4 hours and it was spectacular. we passed through vico equense and stopped off for lunch in sorrento, pizza just isnt pizza unless its from campania!

maggio is going to be fit soon, i really want to see zuniga in the midfield with cigarini. his shooting, dribbling, passing and tackling could seriously let him become a beast in the middle. let maggio do his thing on the right.

i think cigarini will become a fan favourite if he scores some nice goals and makes some of those passes hes renowned for! would still love to see nocerino partner him in the middle

doesnt seem to be much evidence in this but imagine getting nocerino in exchange for blasi???
apparently dela says de sanctis is all but signed, wants denis to stay (give him one more chance i say) and has said hes talking to liverpool about dossena. this mercato is unbelievable!

i might have slandered de laurentiis in the past but the man has really shown that i couldnt of been more wrong about him. i completely agree with what he has to say about lavezzi as a lot of you will probably know!
if he wants to leave let him and bring in matias de federico hes meant to be lethal.

those macron logos are a bit big, and would maybe look better white?? very interested to see the finished article though.

and is it me or is there a lot more people posting on the blog? good work lads!

i wouldnt want anyone from inter and maybe 10-15m plus borriello from milan. of course like that article says cassano would be top of the list and if inter paid 20-25m for lavezzi, de laurentiis knows cassano is perfect for the team. apparently some napoli fans in austria had banners asking for dela to sign him and he just smiled.

its all hypothetical but fuck me if it ever happened, i think i would instantly ejaculate seeing cassano lining up next to quagliarella!

at the end of the day though i think cassano will go to inter

Ha! Then Donadoni would have to fine Cassano for his usual taking off his knickers in celebration, for fear of provoking a flood of male fluids in the San Paolo…

Did that cross a line? haha

I dont know Italian, but my Neapolitan wife sure was impressed with the way that Di Laurentis is dealing with Lavezzi. I know how much he is loved in Naples, so it makes his behavior so sad. All these players love the teams they play for when they are showered with praise and money, but the slightest sign that they can get more, they dont hesitate to break the bond. The azzuri deserve better.

I like what Lavezzi brings to the team, but he has gotten to big for his britches. If he can’t slow down a bit and accept he needs to do more for the team, then sell him off and get some big money. Or swap him. We could use a big goal scoring forward. And Cassano

    How about Cassano, Boriello, Quags!

Now that is enough to make Alex jiz! LOL

Hmm, I have to say that if Cassano is really for sale, Inter would make a move for him before Lavezzi. Especially as Samp may be willing to take some of our extra players. Napoli have been hemming and hawing over Obinna but no dice as of yet.

i’m not gonna get to prematurally pumped about cassano because of his high wages, but wow if it did happen i’d consider quitting school and moving to napoli
