Napoli vs. Atalanta

By: Neil | January 15th, 2014

Official lineup: Rafael – Maggio, Albiol, Britos, Reveillere – Inler, Radosevic – Callejon, Pandev, Insigne – Duvan. I’m hoping Hamsik can get an appearance before he’s required for more difficult Serie A matches.

The preventive measures taken for the abolishment of disappointments brought about by rumours of the January market are futile if we read anything written about our team during said time. I for one am hopeful that the prospects of fruitful changes brought by such acquisitions and departures will strengthen our team so that they can inflict the outmost damage and fear in the hearts of Juventus and any other competitor within the spread of our shadow.

One cannot help but to be impressed by the rhetoric of those self-appointed and appointed soccer prophets that linger our circles. We all at one point in time aspire to that position ourselves. So as I say that, here comes mine. In the event that Napoli breaks the boundary of the non-vincenti and the vincenti due to the materialization of predicted results brought about the changes, the De Laurentis era will be over. Napoli will have a new padrone with much more financial clout than they ever had in the history of the team.

an interesting post from Carbone. When I moved back to England little did I realise that three of my favourite players Zola and Di Cano and Benito would follow me and I made a point of seeing them regularly Carbone even turned up to play for my hometown club Middlesbrough and is a real gentleman.

When I was a player the I used to play in the No 10 shirt. Ten is such an important number in Italy. All the greats have worn it, from Roberto Baggio to Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti, and I always wanted it. When I joined Napoli, I wore the same No 10 that had previously belonged to Maradona and Zola.
I’ll never forget my time there, 75,000 people inside the stadium singing a song specially for me. First of all Maradona, second Gianfranco Zola, third is Beni Carbone.
I used to ask Diego’s personal masseur at the club all about him, and the more I heard about how he used to give his time to help young players and other people, the more he became my absolute hero. It was then I decided to have his photo on my left shin, and it just made sense to have someone like Baggio on the other. The manufacturers did it for me, and from that moment on, I wore them every game I played. Maradona in Argentina kit and Baggio in an Italy shirt. I just wanted something with me out on the pitch that would give me inspiration, and they did. They gave me strength and confidence to try things that would entertain the crowd.
They are safe in my home now, a special memento from my playing days. Now all I need is something to show as a manager to go alongside them. for the pics check out http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2531928/The-Footballers-Football-Column-Benito-Carbone-People-not-compare-Paolo-Di-Canio.html

So I read that Bastos pulled a 180 and opted to go to Napoli. WTF?!?! They said too much red tape with Napoli. I don’t get that? Can we just pony up and get Criscito or Vermaleen?

Bastos is 30 so I wouldn’t make it a big deal of him choosing Roma, anyways he would I’ve been warming the bench with us….

Jorginho is official. He is taking the number 8. With him in the squad do you guys think Benitez will use a 433 more often then we’ve seen do far. I guess Benitez doesn’t want Vargas in that it seems we are trying to sell him. We are still apparently looking at more midfielders though I sure the team is still looking to reinforce the defense as well.

    P.S. Jorginho is technically Italian!

I agree Ross, so I’m not sure why they are wasting their time. Get somebody worthwhile and spend a few more bucks.

I like the Jorginho acquisition …

Lol good point about being Italian
