Blinded by the light
By: Joe | December 11th, 2007Sunday’s victory over Parma helped to erase the memory in Bergamo last week and fans celebrated the second straight home clean sheet by getting the club into more hot water. There were no racist banners unfurled, no yogurt bottles tossed out onto the pitch and no Sky Sports announcers hit with debris from the crowd. Instead, the tifosi found a new and innovative way of getting into trouble. A fan decided to try and temporary blind Parma Midfielder Domenico Morfeo (and perhaps other Parma players)… with a laser pointer.
Napoli have cemented their place as pioneers of inventive fan disruption with this latest incident. Since there’s no precedent for blinding a footballer with a laser, it’ll take Gianpaolo Tosel some time to determine the punishment. With the even-handed and extremely fair treatment Napoli fans have received this year <insert eye roll> look for either a one-match ban, or in a best-case scenario, a hefty fine.
Parma had 11 shots on Sunday. One shot managed to be hit on target. In unrelated news, be sure to get to Napoli’s match on December 23 against Torino early. Word is De Laurentis is planning a special giveaway to the first 50,000 fans in attendance. The promotion is sponsored by Office Depot.

At least we’re creative. Laser pointers are a step up from yogurt bottles.

rumor amongst tifosi is that it was a slightly misguided light from the heavens above to show Lavezzi the way of the goal.
Jokes aside, Napoli could have bought a much needed left full back with all the fines paid so far this year.Posted from
