All the goals and nothing but the goals

By: Joe | May 20th, 2008

Thanks to Francesco who found this little YouTube treasure. It’s all of Napoli’s goals this past season. Just thought I’d share. I will post some updates regarding the calciomercato and Intertoto Cup soon… that crazy thing called a paying gig is cramping my style.

    Thanks Joe. That was mint.
    Watching all those goals gives me the urge to list the following:
    Biggest Shocker: Udinese 0 Napoli 5 (Still can’t believe)
    Most Entertaining Game: Roma 4 Napoli 4 (back and forth)
    Most Satisfying Game: (Tie) Napoli 3 Juventus 1; Napoli 1 Inter 0
    Most Disappointing Game: (Tie) Napoli 1 Empoli 3; Cagliari 2 Napoli 1 (90th minute meltdown in Sardinia)

    Oh yeah and I hear ya about that paying gig cramping your style…..

    Rumour has it that Vargas will sign with the Viola and also that Marco Amelia is on his way to Palermo. I am not sure, but are we comfortable entering the new year with Navarro as our starting keeper if we want to earn a UEFA Cup spot?

    Great CL Final today. Hats off to Man U and Chelsea for a most entertaining game. Unfortunately Man U won.

    Rumours abound that:
    -Liverpool is after Hamsik but he’s told them to backoff. He’s happy where he’s at. Rumours have been rampant that even Chelsea and ManU will make a pitch for him. Napoli won’t let him go;
    -Napoli are somewhat interested in Tolosa’s striker, Swede Johan Elmander. His background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johan_Elmander

    Nice to see how they stayed in the Serie A with relative ease.
    The way the club is doing now makes me really confident about the future, with the right players I can see Napoli aiming for European football in about 2 seasons.

    I’m not much foneck tattooseither but I’ll tolerate if it means keeping Hamsik on the team.
    Ironically, I was at a wedding with a few buddies over the weekend and we started dreaming of all native Napoletan’ transfer market acquisitions where we get DiNatale, Quagliarella, Fabio Cannavaro and Borriello. Can you imagine a 3-4-1-2 with Lavezzi and Quags as front strikers, DiNatale in his customary supporting striker role with a maturer Hamsik with Blasi-Mannini-Gargano in the midfield and the Cannavaro brothers teamed with Santacroce?
    If La Cammorra wants it to, it can happen one day.
