Joe

Who is Joe Ginto? Ginto is my college nickname. My college roomate had a younger brother who had an imaginary friend named Joe Ginto. “Mr. Ginto” was a one-legged dwarf who wore an eyepatch and could often be found pulling pranks like peeing on your shoulder. Since my real last name is close to Ginto, the monicker stuck and I am forever known as Joe Ginto to my college roomates.

I was born in Chicago and moved to Napoli with my parents in 1971. My favorite soccer memories are celebrating a World Cup victory in 1974 with my cousin and collecting Panini stickers. We moved back to Chicago in 1975. I’ve lived in the U.S.A. ever since going back to Italy a few times.

I’ve followed Napoli on and off since I can remember, but have followed the team very closely for the past few years.
